A world without research experiences no progress,
and without progress there is no knowledge and coherently addressing some of life’s challenges. In today’s world, we are constantly adapting to the shift of life and its complexes. We are constantly demanding for new ways to do things and address the newly erupting problems. We always want to keep up with the new.
Therefore, without research, our demands would go completely unanswered.
Most of all, research is the product of our inner curiosity. Don’t you think so? This is something we all have, even if you may try to deny it. We get inquisitive, we question things, and then we want to know more about it. If Thomas Edison was not curious about capturing light to use at night, he wouldn’t have invented the light bulb. If he had given up on research today, we will be busy gathering woods for midnight light. If you cannot imagine a world without research then imagine a world without light bulbs. Or better yet, if Mark Zuckerberg was not curious about getting internet users to rate each other’s photos he wouldn’t have launched Facebook from his dormitory room in 2004, with his college roommates.
Yes, Facebook was born through research. No research, no Facebook.
So, I hope now you can clearly see that research is what gets answers to all our ideas (no matter how ambiguous or silly we may perceive them to be) and quench all our problems. Research means trying and trying over again; reviewing your mistakes until you reach the desired results. We experience new civilizations, technology, knowledge and solutions through research. We monitor and evaluate our efforts and services through research. Even as a company research means finding the best approach each client in order to facilitate the best set of services to them; and the only way to succeed in that is to always research for new materials and new techniques of service provision. What could happen if we were to stop researching? We would become unaware, trapped in inanity. We would not move forward, be exposed to better ways of doing things. We would be born with curiosity, live with curiosity and die with curiosity. Without research, many people would have perished under HIV and AIDS because no one would have done research to develop ART. Without research we would not say we were close to finding the Eco-friendliest way to conserve the ozone lay and reduce global warming. A world without research is a total nightmare. Before we start having such a nightmare someone better wake me up.
